Google free listings (also called unpaid or organic Shopping) display products from your Merchant Centre feed in the Shopping tab and occasionally in the main search results without requiring a paid campaign. They are available to all Australian retailers with an approved Merchant Centre account and a feed that meets Google's requirements.
Your Merchant Centre account must be in good standing (no policy violations), your feed must include all required attributes (title, description, price, availability, image, URL, condition and GTIN for branded products) and your website must have a clear return policy and secure checkout. Products with missing GTINs or mismatched prices are excluded from free listings.
The same feed quality signals that improve paid Shopping also improve free listing visibility: accurate titles with category-first keywords, clean images on white backgrounds, competitive pricing and high in-stock availability rates. There is no Quality Score for free listings — Google uses relevance and trust signals from the feed and the destination URL.
A data feed is a file that contains all your product information: titles, descriptions, prices, images, availability and more. Google uses this feed to display your products in Shopping ads and free listings.
